Meeting Minutes May 21, 2008 2:00 P.M.
Attendees: Eldon Sprague, Bob Carrier, Archie Hoard, Kari Back, Ed VanAvery, Caren Pankow, Kenitha Severn Minutes from April were reviewed and approved. No comments or changes were made. Treasurers Report: No official report given due to Michelle Jones being absent; however, the statement from Firstbank for 04/30/08 showed $3,025.08 in the account. New Business: Discussed Expo Matrix and suggestions for speakers/topics were tentatively put in place. Ed VanAvery stated he would email the matrix to members when he had a first draft completed. It was suggested that MMSC acquire Martha Yoder as Keynote Speaker along with Carol Churchill as the Introduction Speaker. Discussed need for vendors. Ed stated that approximately $1000 would be needed for food, and $1200-$1300 would be needed for mailings/advertising. Bob Carrier discussed MIOSHA Training Institute on Lockout/Tagout course and everyone received the latest student manual being used along with the 2008 MIOSHA Standards & Consultation Education & Training Publications CD. He also stated that he would send the Expo outline to area colleges to inquire as to whether MMSC may, in the future, issue CEU’s for sessions attended. Discussed the possibility of Ed acting as interim Treasurer, and the need for him to have access to PayPal’s username and password for the purpose of Expo registration.
